A "Quiet" Day ....or so I thought.

Today was supposed to be a quiet day.Bleeep. Think again!!It started at 7a.m. with me bringing the two boys down to the hospital at 7a.m. for the first part of their Physical Exams (a pre-requisite to school enrollment this year). Mikko had to go back up for his college entrance review classes at 8 o'clock, so we only had time for bloodchems & xrays. Which meant bringing them down again at the end of his classes at 3pm (Math training naman in the afternoon)!! Wala pa the weewee and poopoo samples, ha? The latter are the ones hard to 'catch'!! In fact, kaninang around 9am nga, Momon went poopoo, and i painstakingly got a sample (don't ask me how) and packaged it neatly and securely and stuck it in the chiller. I then phoned my friend and neighbor Becbec, as i knew she was also patiently awaiting for her own 5-year old's specimens. Asked her if she could bring in Momon's as well when she drove down with her daughter's stuff...okay na ang usapan. That way, i wouldn't have to go down the hill three times in one day.
Kaso, the clock ticked all the way to twelve o'clock (noon) and no sample passed from the little gurl!!! Which means we try again tomorrow. Sigh.

I then settled to prepare for my sermon, i remembered i had to call up this new neighbor of min, this young lady, Shey (for 'Sherelyn' i think)---my neighbor's new daughter-in-law...who, with her husband, quit jobs and life in Manila to move to Polomolok. Philip, our neighbor and her hubby's dad, was being assigned to Hawaii, so he asked his son GV to move back and watch over their home and farm (and of course, find some office job, possibly with Dole). Shey worked for ABS-CBN prior to their move.

The good thing was, Christians ang young couple, and they somehow found their way to our little church last month. I explained to them at the time how our church was at the crossroads, and I then invited them to stay and help us 'rebuild' our church. They took up the challenge, and are now actively involved na. Shey has volunteered to take charge of the Music Ministry and the Youth. They are truly a blessing to us. I hope we can also somehow be blessings to them in turn.

Shortly after i'd ended our very interesting and inspiring telebabad, my cellphone rang naman---and this time, it was my mentor from the gensan Baptist Church, asking if she could bring over on a sightseeing tour of our place (clubhouse, neighborhood, pinyahan, etc) a Korean group on Medical Mission. They came on a ship called the m/v Hannah---a missionary vessel which holds a staff of 45! Luckily, ten lang ang coming ashore kanina.
Earlier, i'd turned down an invitation to attend an ikebana demo/lecture to be given by Rene's boss' Japanese mom (80 year old bala), thinking i'd use up my time for my sermon. And now there was this missionary group coming around the same time i was to have been at the Clubhouse for the flower session!
So i was able to hit two birds with one stone bala? Nagpakita ako sa Ikebana group, at the same time, naka-entertain sa missionaries na singkit!I then had to leave them after an hour, so i could bring back the boys for the rest of their PE checkup. Shey (whom i'd picked up and 'dragged' to the Club with me earlier) took over.
After an uneventful checkup with the pediatrician---whose bed was too short for Mikko to stretch out on, heheh--, i dropped the boys off at our gay hairdresser's for their haircuts, after which i zoomed to the public market to replenish my seafood stash.Phew!
What a day!
